New Firewire surfboards

Firewire announced today the release of its first production Firewire boards for kitesurfing. The Felix Pivec signature series

The search for the Ultimate board can take a life time.Once you think you’ve found something truly special, you start wondering if there is something better out there that can take your riding to the next level.

For over a decade,I have been testing different boards and countless brands, from kite specific shapes to some of the surf industries main surfboard builders. It did not take long to see that existing surfboard shapes are the way to go.

Why reinvent the wheel when you are trying to imitate surfing with a kite.

The Durability was a problem of regular surfboards for kiting and them weight was a slight issue when you laid up the boards with more cloth ,flex then was changed and gave the boards a different feel.

I stumbled across a completely new option.

I came across Firewire and their technology over 2 years ago and was immediately intrigued.I purchased one of the first boards to hit the stores in Hawaii at the time. Two wave’s in and the board felt like no other. The board was alive, predictable and I felt it could be taken anywhere on a wave with ease.

A new bench mark was set to what I was looking for.

A Recent sponsorship change allowed me to hook up with a company that did not restrict my board type and selection.

I was now not locked into using any kite specific kiteboards that felt to heavy and stiff. This now gave me an opportunity to see if there was a possibility of working with Firewire directly.

We hit it off and started collaborating immediately.

Firewire’s Future shape’s technology and combining  that with extensive R&D through out the world,to determine the best construction for added durability  with out sacrificing weight or optimum flex.

3 kite specific surfboards were Born.
